Finland in Maps is a permanent exhibition on display in the university's Cartographica room that sheds light on the development of Finnish maps. Located on the 4th floor of the building occupied by the University of Jyväskylä's Department of History the exhibits are part of the unique collection of maps owned by the Eero and Erkki Fredrikson Foundation. The historical collection of 50 000 maps was donated to the University of Jyväskylä in 1997. The collection is the responsibility of the Department of History.

Eero Fredrikson, on whom the university conferred an honorary doctorate, began to collect maps while he was studying in London in the 1930s. During the past few decades additions have been made to the collection by Erkki Fredrikson, Lic. Phil., who has also arranged several exhibitions based on the collection..
